Sherrie Duris and I birded Magee, Metzger, and surrounding environs from 10 am to nearly dusk, today (4/25). We tallied twenty warbler species, highlighted by TWO GOLDEN-WINGED, Orange-crowned, Worm-eating, Kentucky, "Brewster's", Prothonotary, Hooded, and early male Blackburnian along the breakwall just north of the boardwalk's east entrance.

Other passerine highlights included male Summer Tanager and an early male Orchard Oriole at Metzger.

Around 5 pm, we discovered 23 AMERICAN AVOCETS and a MARBLED GODWIT on Veler Road, just west of Ottawa NWR. We also had three Sandhill Cranes on Clyde Drive just south of Veler. We proceeded to drive the back roads looking for the Ruff, but instead found approximately 200 Golden Plovers on Walbridge East Road.

Good birding -
Gabe Leidy
Cleveland
