Windy but incredible blue skies. Took the marina trail first through the woods to wood trail. Had a nice long look at a handsome male yellow-bellied sapsucker after (and before) walking through many groups of black-capped chickadees, tufted titmouse, downy woodpeckers, and frequent sightings of red-bellied woodpeckers, hairy woodpeckers, and one pileated. Couldn't count the many robins moving through. High winds meant that turkey vultures were flying past at very fast speeds and seeming to have trouble being in control of their flight. Lake Erie was brown due to turbulence (gulls were more numerous on local high school fields than on the water due to the high waves) but spotted some 50-75 scaup species bobbing and around 12 red-breasted mergansers. One beautiful great blue heron in the river leading into marina.
Scott
