After dinner tonight I took advantage of the rain stopping to check on the
status of the prothonotary warblers at Oxbow Road. I tallied 8 males
including one that had been banded at Oxbow Road in 2004. This little gem is at
least 6 years old as he was an adult when initially banded. My other
surprise was a pair of red-headed woodpeckers that appear to have set up house at
Oxbow Road. A short list of the more interesting observations include-
    Prothonotary Warbler [8]
    Palm Warbler [30+]
    Yellow-rumped Warbler [60+]
    Red-headed Woodpecker [2]
    Baltimore Oriole [7]
    Gray Catbird [15]
    House Wren [TOO MANY]

The other observation was that the fishermen are using the area as a
landfill. Why can't these individuals put their trash in the containers placed
around for that purpose.
