Ohio birders,

The Mountain Bluebird showed up just before 5pm this afternoon and all those present (about 15 people I'd say) were treated to close-range views. I left after 10 minutes.

The bird is being seen at the west end of Toledo Express Airport (east edge of Oak Openings Metropark) at Wilkins and Sager roads. This is in Lucas County. Some good photos were taken this morning and are posted at rarebird.org. I took some poor documentation-type photos that I posted on my blog (at least one, anyway).

Word was it disappeared around 2pm toward Airport property, and like I said, it showed up again around 5pm. Some patience may be required, though it does appear to be pretty faithful to this small area.

I got it JUST in time - I leave for Florida tomorrow! (Shwew).

Good luck!
