Did some quick birding this weekend (1/2-1 hour trips to the park and a walk through on campus)and saw some cool species considering the suburban areas we looked in!
Lazelle Woods Park/Rec Center:
catbirds (mimicing robins)
northern mockingbird (mimicing robins, and especially KILLDEER! and others)
yellow warbler
wilson's warbler (my first!)
solitary sandpiper in the creek
OSU campus:
cedar waxwings rooting/calling in some trees near the Journalism Building.
nothing else very noticable (I'm practicing my warbler hunting skills).
I was geeked to see the waxwings and deemed that to be enough for me for the day.
less notable birds not included.
Happy birding!
