First of the season for me, an Eastern Kingbird. The oriole came over
and whistled at him, but he ignored it and wouldn't budge. Heard a
Yellow-throated vireo and was trying to locate it in a group of busy
goldfinches, and spotted a White-crowned Sparrow.
Yard birds today:
baltimore oriole
e. starling
blue jay (on nest)
a. goldfinch
c. yellowthroat
gray catbird (pair)
e. phoebe
a. robin
song sparrow
r-w blackbird
yellow warbler
bobolink
field sparrow
a. crow
chipping sparrow
c. grackle (carrying food, a spider I think)
wood thrush
house sparrow
warbling vireo (seen and heard, first of season)
n. cardinal (pair)
c. lilac, first flower
turkey vulture
red-tailed hawk
downy woodpecker (male)
b-c chickadee
eastern kingbird
yellow-throated vireo
white-crowned sparrow

yellow-rumped warbler
rusty blackbird
green heron
