There are still a few loons around. Heard one calling on Mosquito Lake
earlier this week. On Tuesday, May 12, a Common Loon was found on the bike
trail in Champion Twp, Trumbull County. Apparently it mistook the surface
for a watery landing strip. Must have been a pretty rough landing. It was
checked out by a local rehabilitator and released the next day, apparently
in good health.
