Ruffed Grouse: Cheryl Harner reported that one was observed during
Flora-Quest on the 3rd.

Red-necked Grebe: John Pogacnik observed one adult during his Lakeshore
Waterbird Survey on the 2nd.

Little Blue Heron: Bruce Glick reported that three were at Wright Marsh
in Killbuck Marsh WA on the 30th. These birds were still present on the
3rd. Rick Nirschl located one along the causeway at Magee Marsh on the
1st. Shane Egleston found one at the Barrett Paving Gravel Pit on
Farmersville-West Carrollton Rd in West Carrollton on the 2nd. Kent
Miller reported that one was seen at Mogadore Reservoir on the morning
of the 6th. It was seen along dike road which is an unmarked gravel road
that heads south off of Rte 43. The bird was about one-half mile south
of Old Forge on the west side of the road behind the dike where a small
stream cuts through the cattails.  Frank Frick observed one at Armleder
Park on the 8th.

Cattle Egret: Bruce Glick reported that over 10 were at Wright Marsh in
Killbuck Marsh WA on the 30th. Ken Phillips observed one at Armleder
Park on the 6th. It was still there on the 7th. Mary Misplon reported
that one was at Grand Lake-St. Marys Fish Hatchery on the 14th.

King Rail: Glen Crippen heard one at Irwin Prairie on the 2nd.

PIPING PLOVER: Bruce Glick reported that one was found at Funk Bottoms
along Wilderness Rd, just south of Funk Bottoms WA on the 2nd. The
plover was also seen on the 3rd and 4th by many observers. The bird was
last seen flying north at 7:40 PM on the 4th. Bill Stanley reported that
one was on the swimming beach at Maumee Bay SP on the 6th.

American Avocet: Gabe Leidy reported that one has been seen at Lorain
Impoundment since the 12th.

Willet: Bob Royse reported that four were on the beach at Deer Creek SP
on the 1st.  Dan Sanders found 43 at a new impoundment in Killdeer
Plains WA near the intersection of 108 and 71 on the 2nd. Darlene
Snuffer reported that one was on the beach at Buck Creek SP on the 2nd.
One was on a gravel bank on the Great Miami River near the Rte 122
bridge in Middletown on the 3rd. Doug Overacker and Rick Asamoto
observed 26 on the beach at Buck Creek SP on the 7th. An unspecified
number were reported at Mogadore reservoir on the 7th. John Zahnen
observed one at Armleder Park on the 14th.

Red Knot: Greg Links reported that a group flew over Rte 19 this week.

Laughing Gull: Tom Bartlett saw one during his 15th annual Big Sit at
Magee Marsh on the 9th.

Glaucous Gull: A late first-cycle was reported by John Pogacnik on the
2nd.

Olive-sided Flycatcher: Dave Horn observed one at Camp Oty-Okva in
Hocking County, near the intersection of Rtes 664 and 374 on the 1st.

VARIED THRUSH: Ray Hannikman and others saw one fly-by at Headlands
Beach SP on the 14th.

Golden-winged Warbler: Sam Woods reported that one was seen along the
boardwalk at Magee Marsh on the 8th. Many observers saw one at marker 18
on the Magee Marsh boardwalk on the 10th. John Sawvel had one in his
west Toledo yard on the 12th.

KIRTLAND'S WARBLER: Chris Bedel saw one at the edge of the Eulett Center
parking Lot in the Edge of Appalachia in Adams County on the 12th.

Connecticut Warbler: One was observed at the east end of the boardwalk
at Magee Marsh on the 14th.

Clay-colored Sparrow: Greg Links reported that one was seen in the
off-limits area of Ottawa NWR. Dave Russell saw one at Voice of America
on the 8th. One was observed on May 10th at Magee Marsh between the
visitor center and the observation tower. Other sightings in NW Ohio
included Benton-Carroll Rd, Metzger Marsh, and the east end of the beach
at Magee Marsh.

Western Meadowlark: Tom Kemp reported that one was still present near
the Bowling Green Community Center on the 30th. John Pogacnik heard one
along Rte 19 a mile or two south of Rte 2 in Oak Harbor on the 4th. This
bird was not relocated on the 11th.

White-winged Crossbill: Jay Stenger observed six at Spring Grove
Cemetery in Cincinnati on the 2nd. On the 5th Jay observed eight there.
John Pogacnik saw a singing male at Hell Hollow on the 4th. There was a
report of a single bird flyover in Holmes County on the 7th. One made a
brief appearance at John Pogacnik's feeders in Perry County on the 8th.


Common Redpoll: A late one was at John Pogacnik's feeders in Perry
County on the 10th.

Evening Grosbeak: One was photographed at the BSBO feeders.
