Nice to bird the "local patches" this morning, after chasing birds around the state for the past several weeks. Migrant numbers overall were down , but there were a few nice surprises:
Short-eared Owl Lorain Impoundment this bird actually settled down in a tree after the initial flush; don't think I've ever had a migrant do this, though it still would not allow me close enough for photos
Orange-crowned Warbler Wendy Park wooded strip bordering the lake (east end)
Worm-eating Warbler Cuyahoga Co - on private property, unfortunately
