Hello Ohio Birders,

John Condit asked me to pass along that Alex Champagne and the Ohio State ornithology class encountered a Lake Sparrow on a fence post just outside the University Woodlot on Waterman Farm, west campus.

Waterman Farm is on the northwest corner of Lane Ave. and Kenny Rd. and can be accessed from either. The woodlot is in the far northwest corner, past the honeybee lab (now home to Extension Entomology). OSU Traffic and Parking patrols take the 24-7 parking restriction seriously, so stay near your car, lest you be fined in excess of the cost of the gas that would get you to Oak Openings to see the Lark Sparrows there. (And yes, they are there.)

Happy Birding,

Dave Horn
Columbus
