Birding has been very rewarding around my area lately, here in NE Mahoning Co.  Mostly, I've been searching local OBBA II blocks for additional breeding birds or to confirm nesting.  I've been pleasantly surprised to find some obvious migrants without really trying too hard.  These include 2 great egrets overhead in Coitsville Twp. yesterday, and the following warblers: Tennessee, magnolia, yellow-rumped, black-throated green, blackburnian, blackpoll, and Am. redstart.  A singing ovenbird and the hooded warblers are likely on territory.  Acadian flycatchers and white-eyed vireo are among the many returnees.  A singing purple finch in my yard today was cool.  Last but not least, this morning I discovered a female ruby-throated hummingbird visiting her nest!  Seems early for a nest up here.....she was also picking bugs from a couple spiders webs nearby.  I've never been fortunate enough to see that before.  I've seen at least a half-dozen hummers
the last 2 days--none were near feeders, either.  Later, Craig
