On May 18, while birding the area north of Station Road Bridge in the CVNP,
Susan Jones and I spotted an Olive-sided Flycatcher. The bird fed from a
perch for about five minutes, giving us ample time to make identification.
It was located about 150-200 yards north of the station, on the right (east)
side of the tracks. Landmarks are tough, however, there is a large
cottonwood on the right, just after the marsh begins on the left of the
tracks. We attempted to relocate the bird about 45 minutes later and were
not successful. The convincing field mark(s) were the strong-colored "vest,"
along with the white throat and "upright" position while perched.

Other birds in the area include Canada Warblers, Prothonotary Warblers,
Yellow-throated Warblers, Red-headed Woodpeckers and 40 other species seen
last evening.
