Did some Breeding Bird Atlas work with the day off this morning. I checked on a swamp in Northeastern Ross County. It is maybe 1-2 miles S/East of Hallsville. Called Luckhart Swamp? by locals but is unnamed I think.on Swamp Rd. Delorme-pg. 78 3-A

Had 3-Virginia Rails responding to my I-pod(great tool) of their calls. I then tried the Sora, bingo, 1-Sora called back. Safe dates on these two are 5/20, so worth the effort for sure!

Lot's of Willow Flycatchers here, had one flycatcher that sounded like could have been an Alder. But I'll be back to check in June on him.

As we all know, next year is the last one for the Atlas Project..and there is much work to be done! Time is going fast, better get started asap!
