Hi all,

I joined Laura Bonneau and lead a group of nine birders behind the new ONWR center. They just built a boardwalk system and it was hoppin’ today. In 1.5 hours, we had nearly 70 species of birds including 17 warblers. If you’re heading to the Magee area, it may be worth checking other areas as well such as Ottawa, Metzger etc.

Warblers:
Blue-winged 1
Tennessee 4
Orange-crowned 1
Nashville 25
Northern Parula 2
Yellow XX
Chestnut-sided 4
Magnolia 2
Black-throated Blue 1
Yellow-rumped 20
Black-throated Green 3
Palm 3
Cerulean 1
Black-and-white 3
Ovenbird 2
Northern Waterthrush 2
Common Yellowthroat 5

Others:
Solitary Sandpiper – flyover
Least and Great Crested Flycatchers
Blue-headed, Warbling, Red-eyed Vireos
Veery, Swainson’s, Wood Thrushes
Scarlet Tanagers, RB Grosbeaks, Indigo Buntings
Bobolinks – flyover migrants (singing)

Also, the Magee boardwalk is amazing right now with at least 30 species of warblers. Chris Knoll will report on that soon.
