While out biking this evening on the Maple Highlands Trail central section I heard an interesting bird
vocalization just east of State Rte. 608 where the trail crosses south of Chardon-Windsor Rd.
Accustomed to hearing blue-winged warblers in several areas along the trail, I heard a different call
around 7:30 PM in a brushy area. It didn't go "bee-buzz" like a blue-winged or "bee-buzz, buzz,
buzz" like a golden-winged. Instead this bird simply had a buzz call which it repeated from 2-5
times. I saw it moving through the brush but unfortunately it was overcast, threatening rain, and I
had no binoculars and was unable to get a good look at it. Think I'll try again tomorrow with optics...
