To anyone planning a visit to see the Upland Sandpiperes, I highly recommend, and also previously noted by Laura Dornan, for a great home cooked type meal, a visit to "The Catering Cafeteria" at the Harrison County Hospital; in my opinion the best place in the Cadiz area to eat! Unlike most hospital cafeterias, here they welcome non hospital visitors. When I am in the Cadiz area for work related visits, I always look forward to eating here! The hospital is located on US250 a few miles east of downtown Cadiz. The cafeteria has it's own outside entrance and parking area on the east side of the hospital. Hours of operation are 7AM to 10AM and 11AM to 6PM. Hopefully during your visit to this exciting grassland area you will cross paths with Scott Pendleton, the resident birding guru! For an interesting short drive to get a taste of the area, take Dickerson Church Road, opposite the airport, several miles east to the stop sign, this is US250, go left a couple of miles to the hospital on the right. Enjoy!!

Bob Lane
