Over the last four years, many of you may have had the pleasure of viewing
an eagle nest at the edge of the Old Dutch Tavern's parking lot in
Sandusky. The bar was very accommodating to people stopping by to view the nest,
and the owner would even set up a video camera so patrons could watch the
nest while inside.

Unfortunately, either Sunday night or Monday morning the nest fell and the
eight week old chick was killed. The story is at
_http://sanduskyregister.com/_ (http://sanduskyregister.com/) but you may have to be a subscriber
to view it.

Another Sandusky nest, at the NASA Plumbrook facility fell recently, too.
One of the eaglets is having very serious health issues, the other is to
be fostered in a different eagle's nest but weather conditions have
postponed its placement. It has been cared for by Mona Rutger at Back to the Wild.

Yet another eaglet fell from its nest in nearby Oak Harbor. Despite care
by Mona and a veterinarian it has died.
