I was up in Ashtabula Co. again yesterday 6/13.  While atlasing I found a yellow-bellied sapsucker at Mount Pleasant Cemetary in Geneva, and a chestnut-sided warbler at the State Rd. covered bridge at Conneaut Creek in Monroe Twp.  During mid-day I visited Conneaut harbor.  The oddball gull that I saw on 6/9 was there again.  I had previously called it as a herring gull.  I ended up studying it for a long time, and took a bunch of notes and even made a little sketch.  Fortunately Paula Lozano showed up there and was able to take some photos of the gull.  This is a first-summer bird, it is very pale and worn.  It seems awful small for a HEGU, plus there are other characteristics that don't seem right for HEGU either, including very dark eyes.  Some of the photos have been sent out for examination.  As for identifiable birds at Conneaut harbor yesterday, a first-summer lesser black-backed gull, 3 imm. great black-backed gulls, and 6 Caspian terns
were the highlights.  Purple martins, willow flycatcher, and marsh wren are still conspicuous there too.  Later, Craig
