Hi all,

I just learned this evening that a gentleman who lives near the intersection
of Longfellow Ave. and Tonbridge St. – about ¼ mile north of where the kite
that I posted about yesterday was seen – saw and photographed the bird about
a week and a half ago. There is no doubt about the legitimacy of this
sighting, either. So, to reiterate, any birders in the Worthington area
should keep their eyes to the skies and tall snags when in the vicinity of
Worthington High School on State Rte 161, the neighborhoods immediately
north of there, and all along the Olentangy River in that vicinity. It’d be
wonderful if Ohio’s second confirmed nesting record of Mississippi Kite came
from suburban Worthington!

Jim
