Bell's Vireo singing. I looked for it in the evening but didn't find it.
This morning Larry Jeanblanc and I returned to the area and found it
this time. We just got the briefest of glimpses of the bird but we

Spent a couple of hours at Englewood Main Metropark today. Saw a lot of
old friends including the 2 immature bald eagles that put on a very nice
aerial display for a number of us old-timers and some new-timers.

The mudflats are starting to appear across the pond (scope necessary). A
lot of killdeer appeared overnight--100+ or more. Had one spotted
sandpiper--likely a local nester, and one peep--probably a semi-palmated sandpiper.
It was very small next to a killdeer, relatively larger bill, dark legs,
and stayed in the water. Cape May Bird Observatory (CMBO) people consider
this a very positive sign that it was not a least sandpiper. Least
sandpipers don't like to get their feet wet as a rule. Maybe these sandpipers
were a sign of good things coming.

Also had three calling belted kingfishers fly by.

And most of the "regular stuff"
