Greetings,

My mom called me over to her golf course yesterday to ask a birding question. They were out fixing an irrigation head when she saw a "dead white spotted bird" out in the open....it was a mature female Downy. They do not use insecticides or spray the trees for anything. so the obvious death by bug killers is out. Where it was, it was as if it fell from the sky out in the open with only a Cottonwood around. She was wondering if she should turn it in for bird flu or something. We bagged it up and stuck it in the freezer. So if anyone has any ideas, or would like a Downy please let me know.
