Heather Raymond and I, then later Gene Staufer, had a White-rumped Sandpiper at Pickerington Ponds Metro park this am, Teal pond at the parking area labled Wood Duck. The bird was a molting adult, probably a failed nester returning early. And to add injury to insult it seemed to be suffering from a limp, not to bad, but viewed through the scope it was listing to the left. Still had some flecks down the side of the breast and a few barely noticeable on the flanks. In the right light we also were able to make out the orange on the mandible. Long wingtips, eyebrow, and it even showed its white rump a couple times, mostlly it fed non-stop. Also present were 2 Semipalm Plovers, 15ish Least Sandpipers, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 10 Lesser Yellowlegs, , 5 Pectoral Sandpipers, a Spotted Sandpiper, and several Solitary Sandpipers, lots of Killdeer. Great Egrets, Wood Ducks, Mallards, Osprey, Willow Flycatchers etc.

???? Heather later called me to report an immature Little Blue Heron at Whittier Peninsula after she left around 1:00. Park at the boat ramp and look up into the oxbow area, its in with some Great Eg.s.

???????? Good Birding, and Happy Shore-birding!
??????????????????? -Ben
