Highlights of a Western Basin swing through Ottawa, Pickerel Creek and Pipe Creek Wildlife Areas for Emil Bacik, Sherrie Durris, and I were an avocet and Willet at Pipe Creek WA, and an immature Little Blue Heron at Ottawa's Pool 2A.  The avocet arrived and departed during our time at Pipe Creek.

Overall, shorebird numbers were mediocre.
