8 American Avocets flew in and landed on the mudflats in Conneaut on
Saturday morning 7/11.
The birds were on the ground feeding for approximately 30-40 minutes and
departed just before the thunderstorms moved in.
The only other shorebirds present were 2 Least Sandpipers and several
Killdeer.

A brief return stop on Sunday morning 7/12 turned up a single Avocet, along
with 1 SB Dowitcher, 3 Greater  Yellowlegs, 9 Least Sandpipers and more
Killdeer.

Other birds of note: 6 juvenile Bald Eagles on the breakwall, Least Bittern
(seen from the observation deck),
Green Heron, Great Blue Heron, Caspian Tern, Marsh Wren, Cedar Waxwing,
Brown Thrasher, Belted Kingfisher,
Purple Martin, Bank & Barn Swallows.
