Myself and one other person observed the White Ibis in the earlier described
location in Guernsey County this evening at about 7:15 PM, however the bird
flew to the west about half a mile or more and landed in a tree.  The bird
was very skittish and was not even detected until it took flight.  This is a
vast marshy area but with much vegetation and plenty of appropriate habitat.
I only observed the bird in flight and at a distance of at least 100 feet or
more but for extended looks.  The bird exhibited a distinctive large white
rump patch that continued up its back a bit, not extending past the middle
of the base of the wings in flight.  This bird was fairly large in
comparison to Glossy Ibis that I have seen in Ohio.  The patient observer
who has some time to spend there tomorrow will have the best chances of
relocating this bird if it hangs out.  Also noteworthy is that there are
many marshy areas near this specific location, including to the west and
south a bit on State Route 146 west.  Given the distance it flew from the
original sight, it could be anywhere in this vicinity at first light
tomorrow.  Good luck!!
