Still present and feeding very unskittishly out in the open from 2:15 - 3:15 for Emil Bacik and I.  While dressed in nearly intact juvenile plumage, the bird shows just a few white feathers sprouting through the brown, including one of the top of its head, which Ben mentioned, and others on the wing coverts.  As certain angles and lights, the bird seemed to have a faint, dull greenish tint to the greater coverts.  There are a lot of lillypads in this particular marsh, which the bird could dissappear into, but it preferred to remain in the open and smash on an apparent snail buffet while we were there.

Also, one Semipalmated Sandpiper joined three Leasts.

Thanks Renee for finding and spreading the word so quickly!  Surely there are more birds like this in the state, like Bill mentioned...whistling-ducks almost certainly, as reports have been widespread in neighboring states.  And these birds seem to be as likely to be discovered at city duck ponds/farm ponds and the like, as extensive marshes.

Good birding -
