Fellow birders,
Greetings.
I took a couple of my children down to the Norwalk Reservoir to get some of their energy out at the playground.
While we were there we saw the following:
Canada Goose
Ring-billed Gull
American Crow
American Goldfinch
Great Blue Heron
Mallard (including an interesting "albino" individual)
After a while, a large bird of prey began hovering over the lake, attempting to nab fish. I tried to get a good look at him with
binoculars, but the cloud cover and distance did not make it easy. Nevertheless, based on what I saw of his coloration and his
behavioral pattern over the water, I am fairly confident that he is an Osprey.
