Unfortunately for Ohio state-listers, this rarity, while frequently one of the classic Cincinnati area birding sites, is across the line in Indiana.

Ned Keller provided the details below to the Indiana list:

I led an Indiana Audubon trip this morning to The Oxbow, in Dearborn
County. Although the hoped-for shorebirds were nearly absent - the water
was too high - Alan Bruner made the trip for us by finding a Western
Kingbird.

The Oxbow is located on U.S. 50, just west of the exit ramp from I-275.
Turn left onto an unmarked drive just past the Shell station. Turn right
after about a hundred yards at a T intersection, then left into The
Oxbow area at the next T intersection. From there, follow the gravel
road - avoiding any dirt roads. When it reaches the railroad embankment,
you're at the right spot. The bird was first seen a little before 11:00
a.m., and has been reported again at 1:30 p.m.

A map of the area is at http://oxbowinc.org/pocket-map.htm. The spot is
just south of Jackpot Pond. For updates, your best bet is probably to
check the sightings log on the Cincinnatibirds.com website, at
http://cincinnatibirds.com/goodbird/sighting.php.
