I looked for migrant shorebirds and landbirds in the ponds and woodlots scattered along these two areas this morning. Water levels were high at Pick Ponds and the pond areas of the Greenway (Chatterton & Winchester Pond), so shorebirds were very limited. Herons & Egrets were present however. There wasn't much fallout of landbird migrants, but a few good birds were lurking along the path. Notable included:

Great Egrets - 6 were at Teal Pond in Pick Ponds, while 2 more were at Chatterton
Green Herons - 3 were at Teal Pond
Shorebirds - a few yellowlegs (1 Greater, 2 Lesser) were patrolling the edges of Teal Pond, but the water was too deep for smaller shorebirds
Green-winged Teal - a small flock of 5 at Teal Pond represented the first that I've seen this season

Yellow-bellied Flycatcher - 1 was flycatching along the shrub edge at Chatterton
Wood Pewees - 3-5 at every stop. These birds seem independent of migrant flocks.
Vireos - Warbling were singing at several spots, while 2 Red-eyed were at Portman Park.
swallows - surprisingly scarce. The only numbers were 20 Rough-wings and 20 Barns cruising over Winchester Lake, with many of them sunning on the roof of the nearby condos.
Warblers - none seen, which was surprising.
Grosbeaks/Buntings - a female Rose-br.Grosbeak was along the path at Chatterton, while Indigos were calling at Portman Park & Pick Ponds
Bobolinks - 3 were calling in the grasslands around Teal Pond, undoubtedly recent arrivals
