While I was watching a Black-bellied Plover at the beach at Buck Creek State park this morning I heard an unfamiliar call and looked up to see a Whimbrel land near the plover. The Whimbrel just stayed a few minutes and then flew further down the beach. There was also a Ruddy Turnstone on the beach.  I watched the Whimbrel preen for around 10 minutes, then continued on to work around 8:30 am. Unfortunately I got a call from another birder who was unable to find any of these birds at around 9:30am
