Hi all,

Just a reminder note - the Midwest Birding Symposium is looming on the
horizon! This will be one of the largest birding events in the country, and
will take place September 17-20 in beautiful Lakeside, Ohio, hard on the
shores of Lake Erie. All of the details are right here:
https://www.birdwatchersdigest.com/mwb/main.php

There are already over 650 people registered! I know big crowds aren't
everyone's cup of tea, but as we've essentially commandeered the entire town
of Lakeside, there's space aplenty, and plenty of good fall migration action
right on campus. It's quite a feather in Ohio's cap to be able to host this
event, and hats off to Bird Watcher's Digest for their leadership as
co-sponsors, along with the Ohio Ornithological Society. It would be very
cool, and send a wonderful message, if the event approached four figure
attendance. This will be a great opportunity to meet fellow birders from all
over the state, and from far beyond our borders.

An outstanding array of vendors will be at MBS. If it's bird-related, it'll
be there. The speaker lineup is exceptional, too. We are very glad to have
David Sibley on board, speaking about a subject near and dear to birds:
Trees! The new Sibley Guide to Trees will be smoking hot off the press,
having been released a few weeks prior to MBS, and this guide will be a huge
asset to birders wanting to learn more about the trees in which their quarry
perch. There'll be scads of other great speakers, such as Kenn Kaufman,
Scott Wiedensaul, Al Batt, Lang Elliot, Julie Zickefoose, Bill Thompson,
Arthur Morris, and many more.

And, as noted previously, fall migration will be in full swing and we've
detailed all of the great local birding spots, and arranged for expert
birders to be at each place. Should be something for everyone.

Hope to see you there: https://www.birdwatchersdigest.com/mwb/main.php

Jim
