Yard bird #63 - eastern screech owl.

I walk my dogs early every morning, as I have for all of the 10+ years I have lived in Newark. This morning around 5:30, for the first time ever we encountered an eastern screech owl, moving from west to east, from near the Wal-Mart on 21st street, into trees along my street, and finally directly over my yard and on toward the North Fork of the Licking River, which is only about 1/2 mile east of my home. We were first alerted by its calling. I suspect a juvenile looking for its parents.

Very cool!
