Ron Pittaway has issued a new forecast for "winter finches" in the
region. These autumn updates have been very useful in the past, aided as
they are by observations from a large cohort of observers in the
breeding grounds of these species, and ably summarized by Pittaway. Some
of these birds never reach Ohio, but the ones that will are well covered
in the forecast.
The new one follows in this tradition, offering a lot of natural
history insights while looking ahead to the usual species, including as
well some other irruptive species of interest. This helpful information
can be shared by all for the moment at
http://www.birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/ONTB.html#1253409860 , and
it's worth copying. Thanks as always to Ron and his collaborators.
