Thanks to Bill Whan for posting about the Indian Lake gulls we found at the Old Field Beach area on the SW corner of the Lake. We actually saw 6 gull species there, among the estimated 400-450 gulls. The sixth was Bonaparte's Gulls, 4 of them, but no Sabine's Gulls were found there today.

Highlights of the Lake St. Mary's area include another Franklin's Gull, a Ruddy Duck, and an early Lesser Scaup at the fish hatchery, on the East side of the Lake. Many of the smaller ponds there have been let down, creating good shorebird habitat, but only 5 species of the more common shorebird species were seen. No unusual gulls were found at the West end of the Lake, in Celina, but we struck the EucoDove mother-lode finding 11 Eurasian Collared Doves perched on the power lines and poles just NW of the mill/grain elevator on Mill Street.

Headed N on I-75 to check other inland reservoirs and then on to the S shore of Lake Erie.

Good Birding,
Dan Sanders
Powell, OH
