Hello everyone,

Black Swamp Bird Observatory (BSBO) is proud to partner with the Jet
Express, in Port Clinton, Ohio to present a very special field trip. On Sunday,
September 20th, the Jet Express will take participants to Point Pelee
National Park to experience fall migration of birds and monarch butterflies.
BSBO has lined up some great field trips leaders that know the area very
well, including: Tom Bartlett, Paula Lozano, Hugh Rose, Ethan Kistler, and
John Sawvel. Cost for this one day excursion is just $85 and includes a
light breakfast, lunch, and transportation. A valid passport is REQUIRED!
Seats are still available. For more information and to make reservations
please visit: _www.jet-express.com_ (http://www.jet-express.com) / or
call 800 245-1538.

A note about birding Magee Marsh:
Magee Marsh Wildlife Area Manager, Patrick Baranowski, stopped by BSBO
today and asked me to share this information. The road in to Magee Marsh will
be under construction from now through Tuesday, September 22nd. The road
will remain open until Monday, when it will be totally closed to any public
traffic. This has nothing to do with poor planning on the part of ODOW.
It's simply a matter of the brutal schedule for road construction in our area,
and a bit of bad luck in terms of timing. Midwest Birding Symposium
participants, and others, will have access to the boardwalk and all public
areas this weekend, but the road will be rough in spots. Construction has
already begun, so, please be aware and take care when driving through the area.
The BSBO gift shop and window on wildlife will be closed on Monday, but
the office staff will be there to answer calls and emails if you have any
questions.
The official announcement from ODOW is below.

Good Birding,
