I was coming back home from the Detroit area and had a half hour or so on the west end entrance on the boardwalk at Magee today and saw the following out of the rest...

1 Gray-Cheeked Thrush

1 Ovenbird

5 Red-Breasted Nuthatches

7 BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS

There were also 8 or so Trumpeter swan out on the lake when I left

The Brewer's came into the brush and I assumed Grackles as I saw the black fliting through the woods. Then the started calling, and I immediately knew these weren't Grackles, the calls were much more like a Rusty Blackbird's. Upon further investigation, I got a really good look at an entire bird, as this individual was very cooperative. Yellow eye, nice round glossy purple head, etc. Totally different shape impression immediately that this indeed was NOT a Grackle. The western winds must have taked this group further east than normal...

Wish I had more time there!
