Many thanks to the trio of Ben Morrison, Kent Miller, and Kent's dad Jim, for sharing their 12:30PM Flycatcher find at Headlands. By 3PM word had spread and many got to see!!! Confirming the identity for this group was easy, Kent had recently been in Bolivia, seeing numerous Vermillion Flycatchers. Also, according to Jim, Kent had a good luck charm with him, his grandfathers' hat, which he was wearing for the first time. Yesterday, between visits to Conneaut and Headlands, it was one of those totally remarkable birding days that you did not want to end! When you are able to add three Ohio life birds to your list in one day, wow!!! #305 Red Phalarope, #306 Vermillion Flycatcher, #307 Sedge Wren(Nemesis). We were thrilled to finish the day with Jerry Talkington and Suzanne Wagner, who gave us a successful clinic on Nelson's Sparrows and Sedge Wrens. The sharing of exciting bird findings by the Ohio birding community is a wonderful thing. Maybe the Northern Wheatear can be outdone!!
