This morning I went to the park I usually call Wildwood but is officially called Cleveland Lakefront State Park Villa Angela/Wildwood Area. Now I bird the west side (Villa Angela) and the east side (Wildwood) but I like to say Wildwood as it is easier. Well I was there between 11:30 and 2:40pm. It became more windy and dark before I left and the lake was rolling. The winds felt like they were from the NW but Accuweather says WSW or SW. There were a lot less birds today than when I was there last weekend or Monday evening. I believe it rained last night. I am only showing my highlights and there aren't that many.
Black-crowned Night-Heron 1 adult
Hairy Woodpecker 1
Winter Wren 3
Tufted Titmouse 3-4 (more seen this year than before)
White-breasted Nuthatch 2
Golden-crowned & Ruby-crowned Kinglets - not huge amounts
Hermit Thrush 2
Northern Mockingbird 1
Warblers:
Tennessee 1 (saw twice maybe it was another)
Nashville 1
Yellow-rumped - 8
Hooded 1 (male)
Eastern Towhee - 1 calling
Song Sparrow 6
White-throated - did not count - many hidden
White-crowned - 4
Dark-eyed Juncos 5-6
I was at Sims from 10:30 to 11:10am. I only saw the following:
Red-breasted Mergansers 55 (in water)
Blue-winged Teal 3 (flew in and landed)
Double-crested Cormorants 8
