Sunday morning I went to Sharoan Woods Metro Park. The highlights of the
day were white-eyed vireo, red-winged blackbird, and hermit thrush. I
thought it was late in the year for the first two species and that was the
first hermit thrush I've seen since spring.
Other species observed were:
Canada Goose
Mallard
Red-Bellied Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
American Crow
Blue Jay (one of the most numerous species there)
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
White-Breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren
American Robin
Swainson's Thrush
Northern Mockingbird
Cedar Waxwing
Northern Cardinal
White-Throated Sparrow (one of the most numerous species there)
White-Crowned Sparrow (one of the most numerous species there)
Song Sparrow
Common Grackle (it seems late for this species too)
American Goldfinch
House Finch
House Sparrow
Interestingly enough, I didn't see a single starling.
