I checked out the Big Island Wildlife Area again today hoping to find more Ammodramus sparrows, but I found none at all. In general there were fewer Savannah Sparrows present today which the LeConte's and Nelsons's were associating with a couple of days ago. I found one large loose flock of Savannahs numbering ~75 birds but they weren't distributed widely. Song and Swamp Sparrows were both numerous and distrubed throughout the whole area. Other sparrows noted included Fields and Lincoln's (2). Some White-throateds were by the white barn on LaRue Prospect Rd.

The small number of shorebirds present included KIlldeers, 3 Gr. Yellowlegs, 5 Least Sandpipers, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, and several Wilson's Snipe.

The highlight today for me was a Sedge Wren in the grassy area west of the impoundments where they have nested in the past. 2 Marsh Wrens were also seen in the impoundments.
