At about noon observed two Sandhill Cranes on the exposed land straight out
from the boathouse. A guy in a kayak felt compelled to paddle toward them
and they took flight north but we did not find them after driving all the
way to the earthen dam to the north. Otherwise the lake was almost empty!
Some mallards, a few gull in the distance and a couple coots. Did NOT see a
single loon.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better birding day.
