I went to Sims Park in Euclid this morning around 10am to 11am. I was joined by Jeanne Hrenko. I returned later from 1 to 2pm. Here are the birds that were seen:

Surf Scoter 1
White-winged Scoter 1 (the white wing not always apparent)
Black Scoters - 17 (females)

Horned Grebes 12-14
Bufflehead 1
Common Goldeneye - only 2
Red-breasted Mergansers 300-400
Common Loon 1

Red-throated Loon 1 (possible and very probable)as we don't have a lot of experience with this bird (especially the end of Nov) saw bird real far out that sure didn't look like a Horned Grebe as its head and neck weren't skinny sticking up in the water and it was larger. This bird was smaller than a Common Loon. All I saw was a very white head and bill sticking up from the body. The bill was long and dagger like and it would swing its bill back and forth. When Jeanne looked at it through the scope she saw white on the side of it and when it flew it was having great trouble lifting off the water as if it was to heavy. She also saw a lot of white as it lifted off and flew west. She saw more than I and she felt it was a loon. I didn't realize what it was til I looked in Sibley's. I had to leave and don't know what happened to it and didn't see it later when I returned.
