Darlene Sillick and I headed over to Hoover Reservoir today trying to find
some Common Loons. Our first stop was at Oxbow where we saw very little
except two Hooded Mergansers.

Heading north on Old 3-C Hwy., we saw a Pie-Billed Grebe diving at Area I
between the road and the reservoir.

At the Plumb Rd. access we saw 6 Snow Geese mixed into a large flock of
Canada Geese. Then 4 Tundra Swans flew in from the east. 2 of the Tundra
Swans were adults, the other two were juveniles. Then we headed south
again.

At Maxtown Rd. we saw 10 American Wigeons and 1 mallard.

There was not much at the dam other than Mallards and Gulls.

We were about to give up on trying to find a Loon but then we pulled into
Area A where we found 3 Common Loons and 4 Ruddy Ducks on the far shore.
