Julie Karlson and I birded at Buck Creek State Park Sunday morning. The
highlight of the morning was a Marsh Wren in the small marsh below the
spillway on Overlook Drive. This is at the south end of the state park. We
also saw 10 species of ducks on the lake along with coots, Pied-billed
Grebes, a Horned Grebe, and a Common Loon. There are a few gulls on the lake
including some Bonaparte's Gulls. At the north end of the lake there is a
large area of mud flats but rather few birds. We found about 40 Dunlins and
a Least Sandpiper but only three Killdeer.
