Today I went with Nancy Brewer to Sandy Ridge (Lorain Co. Metroparks). The
Red-headed Woodpeckers and Eastern Bluebirds put on quite a show, especially
after the sun came out to reveal their brilliant colors. There was a nice
variety of waterfowl, and also sparrows, but we had trouble identifying the
sparrows with certainty. One bird flew up from a bench when I almost
squashed it with a sack of field guides and snacks, and it landed on Nancy!
We barely got a glimpse before it realized its error and flew away.

Our list follows. If some of you who know your sparrows get out there, you
will probably get a nice list.
