We had a very successful Western Hamilton County Christmas count this
year. With two small groups yet to report, we found 86 species, compared
to our previous high of 81. New to the count were Cackling Goose,
Double-crested Cormorant, and Harris's Sparrow. We also had Lark Sparrow
for the second time, and we set or tied high counts for Mute Swan, Black
Vulture, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, Merlin,
Red-bellied Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker, White-breasted Nuthatch,
and American Robin.

Thanks much to everyone who participated.
