When I came downstairs this morning my son-in-law, John said my feeders were home to a rarity. While watching the 10 feeders I have on my deck he watched a flock of Mourning Doves fly into the trees about 20 ft. from the Deck. He was scanning them with binocs when he saw one that seemed different. Upon closer looking he determined that it was a White-winged Dove. He then saw it fly around and the white wing bands where very evident. i went to the window and it was still hanging out in the trees. Tried to get some photos, but not real sharp due to the window. It appeared to be part of the local flock that hangs out around my house and we continued to see it on and off all day long. Hope to see it tomorrow on Christmas. Was a really neat way to start the holidays. If it stays around I will let you know when and where you can observe it.
Dick
