hooks on the beaks of accipiter-ensis,
refuges, marshes, and birds wearing rings...
these are a few of my favorite things. : )

Black Swamp Bird Observatory and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge invite you
to visit the Lake Erie Marsh Region in search of shrikes, swans, and
yet-to-be-discovered rarities, this weekend. And, when your fingers and
toes are ready to thaw, stop in for some warmth and holiday cheer at our
combined Holiday Open Houses, on Sunday, December 6th, from 11:00 AM - 5:00
PM. (the flyers say 1-5:00, but we'll be there at 11:00!). We'll have
nature-related, holiday-themed activities for the whole family, free
refreshments, book signings by Kenn Kaufman and Jim Mollenkopf, and Sally
Deems-Mogyordy will be there signing copies of, Winged Journey, the 16-month
calendar of birds that features Sally's lovely Haiku and stunning images of
birds by award-winning photographer, Bryan Holliday. Visit the festivities
at both locations and we'll enter your name in a free drawing for a lovely
Long-eared Owl print by Louise Zemaitis!

Here's a link to some Bird Bucks coupons, valid at BSBO.
