Here are sightings I had this weekend.............12/5---at Mosquito L/WA were 400 Canada geese, 145 mallards, 38 Am. black ducks, 200 gadwalls, 10 n. pintails, 32 n. shovelers, 20 green-winged teal, 100 c. goldeneyes, 16 buffleheads, 20 hooded mergansers, ruddy ducks, 2 c. loons, horned grebe, GREAT EGRET (very late), wild turkeys, n. harrier, 5 bald eagles, 4 red-tailed hawks, red-shouldered hawk, Bonaparte's gulls, ring-billed gulls (hundreds), herring gulls, e. bluebirds, Am. robins, 15 Am. tree sparrows, swamp sparrows, dark-eyed juncos, and 20 SNOW BUNTINGS.  Also there I saw my first-ever river otter, very cool creature!!  Elsewhere in Trumbull Co. were 20 wild turkeys in Hartford and 2 Am. kestrels in North Bloomfield.  I went to the Middlefield area looking primarily for raptors, and found n. harrier, sharp-shinned hawk, 2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS (1 each dark & light morph), red-tailed hawks, and n. flicker.  On 12/6, I birded in eastern Mahoning
 Co.  In Poland Twp. were a male n. harrier and n. mockingbird.  At Pine L./Evans L. were Am. black ducks, gadwalls, n. shovelers, buffleheads, hooded mergansers, ruddy ducks, c. loon, pied-billed grebe, horned grebe, 2 bald eagles, Cooper's hawk, ring-billed and herring gulls (both numerous), Am. tree sparrows, song sparrows, swamp sparrows, and white-throated sparrow.  Later, Craig
