With all the owl activity in the area I should report the Short-eared
Owl I saw yesterday afternoon in a nearby weedy field. Dark with
reddish patches above, light colored with buff breast below, black
crescent on the underside of each wing, distinctly framed face. I
visited the spot briefly this morning but didn't see the owl today.
Are winter owls likely to stick around for a few days or do they move
around a lot?
